Random things/School

I went back to the doctor and found out my A1C level was a 7.0. I was very surprised it was that good. Basically that means my blood sugar level was at a average of 157 for the three months tested. Goal is 6.5 so that is attainable. He was very happy about the not smoking and gave me the continuing month box of Chantix and I hope it is the last! He was very surprised at the 5lb weight loss since usually there is a weight gain when you quit smoking. Yeah!!

I have to admit I am dragging this week. I think I must of been a carbaholic and now my body is adjusting to a lower does. I am hoping it is just an adjustment period and I start feeling better next week. I did get the doctor to do a metabolic panel, iron levels and he did cholesterol test so we will see where that is at soon.

We will no longer be homeschooling the girls. We went last month and I registered them and I put Tessa in Kindergarten again (she needs it) and Tamar in the 1st grade. Tamar is so much more mature than Tessa and more than likely 7 not 6. She had to start wearing deodorant last month and will need undershirts or a kiddie bra for the school year. I don't remember when girls start wearing bra's it's been a while but I didn't think it was this young. I have decided not to feel guilty about sending the girls to school, they want to go and I think they need to go, especially Tamar who needs to just be a kid.

John is at the age where he could go to pre K but he is in diapers still. They can't be in diapers to attend pre K. He goes poo on the toilet but has no interest in peeing in the toilet. We have tried everything cute undies, hot pants (Trish they didn't work yet) regular thick training undies and I think he is just not ready.

Bella is just her cute chunky self. All attitude and grins!!

Oh and did I mention that while looking for wedding dresses for Ashley last week this store owner ask me if the kids were all my grandchildren! Really being fat must make me look old. More reason to loose weight!

Progress/

I am making great progress on my overhaul for myself. Monday will be 3 weeks not smoking. Chanix is working fairly well for me but some of the side effects are not nice. I have really, really weird dreams about people I went to elementary school with, adventure dreams, spy work dreams and other crazy unexplained dreams I have no idea where they are coming from. I really don't remember my dreams when I wake but for now I do. Other side effect's I am experiencing nausea and vomiting, hot flashes and easily agitated. (Guess I should of told M about that one before I watch her kids tomorrow).

Diabetes classes I took Thursday makes me feel so much more in control of my situation. I now understand how many carbs I can have at each meal and know why I need to check my blood sugar before eating and 2 hours after. I understand how my pancreas works and the fact that it has been abused to be where I am at. It can all be changed so that's what I am working on now.

Tomorrow S is going to our local gym to check family rates, I was suppose to go but I am babysitting and can't do it with 7 kids in tow plus our car won't fit everyone.

I feel like finally I am ready and I can do this taking one step at a time!!

Family Needed

I am reposting this from a bloggy friend I have been reading for a few months. I found her blog from another blog and she really touches my heart with her post!
here is the link
I don't think the link worked so here is the address.

Friends, I come to you tonight begging for your prayers. My heart is so burdened for a sweet little boy who so urgently needs our intercession...and a family.

Monroe is five years old. He is so fortunate to still be in a baby house. For those of you unfamiliar with adoptions in this country, around a childs's fifth birthday they are a transferred to a mental asylum. All children with special needs go there. For most, it is a death sentence. They simply cannot survive the heinous conditions.

Monroe WILL be transferred in just six months time. That's how long a family has to get to him. The institution he will be moved to is known to be one of the worst in the country. There is no way sweet Monroe can survive there. Absolutely no way.

This adorable little boy so deserves the love of a family and the medical intervention he so desperately needs. The fact that Monroe has CP should just be a big whatever. Just like every other child, he deserves a mommy and a daddy to help him become ALL that God has created him to be. There is nothing 'wrong' with Monroe, but everything RIGHT with him. He is created in the image of an Almighty Father--fearfully and wonderfully made just the way he is.

A missionary visited him last month and shared this about him....

I met with the doctor in his Groupa House who brought me back to meet him. The Head Doctor wanted me to meet the children who needed equipment. While measuring him for a chair, she explained to me what was more important was that he get a family. He will be tranferred in six months to the worst institution, restrained in a crib in a dark room. She broke into tears! Monroe has spastic cerebral palsy in all four limbs and is globally delayed. He is able to recognize the voices of his careworkers and understand simple directions. However, due to his spacitiy he is unable to do much of anything. No speech. With therapy he can improve but will always have limitations. His temperament was sweet and his eyes twinkled. He needs a family fast!

I look at this sweet boy in the picture and I am absolutely certain of something--this boy will blossom, grow and astound everyone with his rapid development once he is home. He just needs to be given a chance at life, an opportunity to learn and grow. Sadly, he will never reach any kind of milestone once he is in an asylum, he will wither away in a dark room and die alone. Fact!

Please will you pray with me? Please will you help me spread the word about Monroe?

All Monroe so desperately needs is someone to say, "Here I am Lord, send me!" Everything else is already provided. Due to an incredibly generous benefactor, the adoption costs for Monroe are completely covered! Monroe has a $20 000.00 grant....

$20 000.00!
That is enormous. Never in my years involved in the adoption community have I ever heard of such an amazing grant for one child. Boy does this little guy need it.

I know there is a family out there for this angelic little boy. They just have to find him. Will you help me spread the word, please? Together as the Body of Christ we can find Monroe's family.

Time is running out. Once he is transferred, it may be very difficult to get him out. Someone needs to go on a rescue mission--sent out by the Lord Himself.

I appreciate your prayers for Monroe more than you can know. I know the Lord hears every single plea on behalf of this angel--I know He will act!

I will give you the treasures of darkness,
riches stored in secret places,
so that you may know that I am the LORD,
the God of Israel, who summons you by name.
Isaiah 45:3

Standing and trusting for the life of this child!

Webinar

I was able to get in on the webinar yesterday about the kids coming home on HP. I had already received the letters they mostly talked about and knew we didn't need to keep finger prints current to adopt. I still don't understand the process to adopt them here so I will proceed with the custody and hope some of our Judges here are sitting on meeting they were talking about during the meeting.

They also made it clear that if you can't afford the extra USCIS fees of $1825+/child, then they will question you being able to afford to raise them. I find that crazy. So now we owe 13000.00 in fee's in Haiti for adoption that is not finished and praying I get a decree so we can pay the fee's. We get company reimbursement for adoption. It all has M's name on it.

This all had my head spinning! Rich people are not the only ones that adopt! I guess I better get busy on some idea's running in my head to make some extra money to make all this happen.

Prayers are welcomed!

Ramblings

I finally decided to take charge of my health. I am tired of being fat, having to take meds for type II diabetes, being ignored with my concerns by my doctor. I have ask him every single time I have went in for a referral for nutrition, my request were ignored so I have moved on. I really hate changing doctors I have a complicated history and it about killed me to move from Kaiser after 18 years to a different PPO plan. I like seeing the same person every time I go to the doctor.

Anyway I got a flyer in the mail for a different medical group in the area that practices out of the hospital I was doing my nursing school at so I called and made an appointment. I really like this guy! He was in no hurry, listened to my concerns and handed me a flyer for diabetes classes at their clinic at another location that are free. I was so happy to finally have someone take me serious. I left there with my prescriptions needed and he also gave me the requested Chantix. My previous doctor said no to just quit when you get ready. Hello I don't have that will power right now I need the extra help. If I am going to start exercising I need to be able to breath so I really want to quit. I am on week two day 3 and doing great, another benefit is it will also help with my diabetes.

Now I need to work on my spiritual repair. We use to attend a church that we really enjoyed. My husband wants to return there I don't. When the earthquake happen and I emailed the pastor to request our family be put on the prayer list, It never happened. Week after week I asked for prayer it was all in vain so I lost my faith in the church. I could understand maybe if we were not involved in activities, extra classes, Haitian ministries or didn't tithe but we were and did. Maybe I am wrong but I just don't feel comfortable after all our struggles getting our babies home going back there. There has to be another place for us.
