Christmas pictures

I'm Back

It's been really crazy around here. We have spent a lot of time at the rehab center with my dad, cleaning the house for a court home study so we can go to court tomorrow for the domestication part for the girls. They will get new birth certificates with their new names and then we just have to apply for citizenship. This should of been done along time ago but oh well! (This go around S will be visiting our kids in Haiti so they can come home as citizens)

The girls are really excited for Christmas this year. I am praying that next year our little ones in Haiti will be home before Christmas but I know in my heart it's all in God's perfect timing.

Where we are at

I had a update on our file last week and a panic attack. Our kids should be out of ibesr soon but we need to make the next installment on our files so they can move. That's where the panic attach came in. I have been praying and praying for provisions so our file can move to the next step. This adoption and our last is totally a miracle of God. We are not rich. We are a one income family and I stay at home and homeschool the girls. This is where God has lead us. I know he will provide but sometimes this is a scary road and you feel alone unless you have traveled the same path. We need to come up with 3000.00 pretty quick. I know God can move mountains so please join us in praying for his blessings.

New Family

I think we have found a new family for Darline. This would be awesome if it's not God's will for us to adopt her! Pray for us,Pray for her please!

Darline

We have had some ups and downs lately concerning Darline. I called our O director and told her we could not continue with her due to birth order issues with our agency not wanting to approve her. We have found another agency that will work with us and has no problem approving out of birth order adoptions. We just have to come up with the money to do so. In this economy it is not possible right now for us to come up with that right away with just spending that on the refused homestudy. If anyone could donate even 1.00 to help it would be so appreciated. I have a paypal connection on my blog if you would like to donate. I will keep everyone updated on the process. We are praying for God to provide!

Pictures from the fair

The girls were fearless on the rides at the fair. They had so much fun.

Flu

I am now having to bite my tongue! Tamar has the flu. S and I were both sick last week, him with sinuses me with bronchitis. I was hoping to avoid all the sickness this year with the girls being homeschooled. All our local pharmacies are out of the liquid Tamaflu so we are fighting it the old fashion way. I am pray little T don't get this as Meg and Ash are already both sick.

On a happy note we went to the local fair this weekend and the girls had a blast. I will post pictures later today.

Home Schooling

School is going great. We found a set a Bob's books in a second hand book store and the girls could read book one yesterday. The are just little books with simple words but they were so proud of themselves for being able to read. Everyone had the book read to them as they came home yesterday. All the high fives has encouraged them to read the second one today. So we are off to do school!

Play Date

The girls had a blast today with A&E. Marta had to work so I was entrusted with her precious two. We had breakfast, played at the house until lunchtime and the girls had rice and chicken, then we headed out to Scoops for ice cream which was a great hit. This was my first time there and it was awesome. It reminded me of the old country store we use to frequent with Granny and Papa in Hartwell. Since the girls all had full bellies we took a nap and they were refreshed to go eat at the Golden Arches and play on the play fort. Lots of squealing and giggling going on!

The rest of the day was spent on Disney movies and Hannah Montana movie. The girls can't wait for their next play date with the A&E!

Home Schooling

We have decided to home school. It was the original plan when we adopted the girls, but I let doubt and the devil stand between the kind of education we wanted for the girls. I was not sure I could teach them everything they needed to know. After two weeks in the public school, the bus ride that took an hour, the older kids and their cussing on the bus and the overall change seen in the girls after two weeks I got my confidence back and knew we had to do something. I could also see that I was fighting what the Lord was leading us to do a Christian education. The girls are so excited. The past two Mondays have been spent at the Learning Things warehouse to look at curriculum. It was really overwhelming the 1st trip. So much to look at and not knowing where to start. Upon advise of two other homeschooling moms in our adoption group I had a good idea of some programs I wanted to check out. The past Monday we went in with our list to look at the choices we made and to look at what we decided on, it all changed when we looked at some of the choices first hand. Here's what we decided on~
Sonlight Horizons Math
Sonlight Horizons History (very multicultural study for K)
Sing Spell Read and Write
Christian Liberty Press for Bible and Science mixed with some Abeka

We are now waiting on what we ordered to arrive here at the house. I was able to buy some stuff from a used curriculum site which most of the stuff is brand new or in new condition. The rest we ordered new from Learning Things. The SSWR program was to expensive (IMO) to buy new over 300.00 on some sites so I finally found a complete set on Craigslist in Texas for 50.00 with an extra set of books that comes with it. We should be geared up by the end of next week to start school and I can't wait. Until then we have been doing lots of reading, art and puzzles. We are lucky to have a library 5 minutes away from us for extra books.

Blog for a Cause

I have requested a new blog from this awesome young lady who redesigns your blog as a fundraiser to help her go on mission trips and to help fund several organizations in poverty ridden country's. This work is close to my heart as I did mission work for two years in Haiti prior to adopting TnT.

Go on over to her site and check out what she has been doing, if you don't need a makeover you can always contribute to her trip to the DR coming up.

Run Sweet Boo Run

Our sweet Zack (aka Boo) had to be put to sleep Monday. He had diabetes, blind, cushions and walked with a limp which really took a tole on his body. He was 10 years old but aged to 15 with the disease. He was the sweetest Schnauzer and loved so much. I am feeling better today knowing he is running with Bandit in heaven and someone to guard the food bowl with once again. That was always his thing to do with Bandit. The girls had lots of questions which we used as another opportunity to share about God and his love and how he will no longer be blind and sick. We will miss you Boo!

Here are a few pics from the bus stop Tessa was totally bored with it in a matter of minutes.

Here is one before the bus stop and a picture of our house from the road. It's a good little walk to the bus stop but at least it's at our driveway.
